The IOI was founded in 1994 under the Direction of Prof. Dr. J. Costa Vila The center is located inside the premises of one of the leading clinics in Barcelona, with more than 50 years experience.
IOI is at a residential area, and has all the advanced equipment needed to perform cataract surgery and LASIK miopia correction.
The medical staff is now fromed by 5 ophthalmologists and 3 nurses specialists in Ophthalmology. The center is ophthalmology-driven with no other specialities that could distract IOI from leading service to ophthalmic patient.

Prof. Dr. Costa has a Ph D in Medicine from the University of Barcelona Founded the IOI in 1994 where thousands of patients have been treated since then. He has written and published more than 100 articles and presented more than 180 papers at national and international congresses. Has directed 7 doctoral thesis in several ophthalmic areas Active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Laser Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, European Assocition for Eye Reasearch, and other several important societies.

Day 1 Arrival of patient. Transfer to Hotel. Free night but restricted eating /drinking (12 hours fasting)
Day 2 Transfer to Clinic. Around 8:00 Reception, personal data input.
Visit with ophthalmologists and tests
When tests available transfer to surgery room After surgery ,stay at patient’s care area
Patient return to Hotel
Stay at Hotel during afternoon
Day 3 Transfer to clinic Visit with ophthalmologist and patient release
CLINICA BONANOVA
The center is specialized in ophthalmology, with four operating rooms for intraocular surgery Clinica Bonanova has all the advanced equipment needed to perform cataract surgery.
The medical staff is now formed by several ophthalmologists and nurses specialists in Ophthalmology. The center is ophthalmology-driven with no other specialities served at the moment.

Dr.Diaz has a MD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona
He has a broad Hospital experience in two of the leading ophthalmic hospitals in Barcelona,complemented by post-graduate studies in Bologna, Chicago, Miami and Virginia.
He wrote and published many articles at international publications and presented several papers at national and international congresses.
He is working actually at the largest hospital research based in Barcelona.
Active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Spanish Society of Imppant and Refractive Eye Surgery.
